The National Order of Quebec Bestowed on Rémi Marcoux

Montreal, June 18, 2008 – Rémi Marcoux, the founder and Executive Chairman of the Board of Transcontinental, was invested as an Officer of the National Order of Quebec by its Premier, Jean Charest. This prestigious award of merit was presented today at a ceremony at the hôtel du Parlement in Quebec city.

“To receive such recognition in my home province is a true honour,” said Mr. Marcoux. “My hope is that myself and the other recipients recognized here today inspire others to pursue their dreams, and always set an example they would be proud to follow. I would like to thank my family and the people I have worked with over the years, including everyone at Transcontinental.”

According to the Quebec ministère du Conseil exécutif, “this tribute is testimony to the pride inspired in the people of Quebec by the outstanding achievements of those who have had an exceptional impact on Quebec or have enabled Quebec to stand out in a specific field of endeavour.”
