 Montreal,
June 18, 2008 – Rémi Marcoux, the founder and
Executive Chairman of the Board of Transcontinental, was invested
as an Officer of the National Order of Quebec by its Premier,
Jean Charest. This prestigious award of merit was presented
today at a ceremony at the hôtel du Parlement in Quebec
city.
“To receive such recognition in my home province is
a true honour,” said Mr. Marcoux. “My hope is
that myself and the other recipients recognized here today
inspire others to pursue their dreams, and always set an example
they would be proud to follow. I would like to thank my family
and the people I have worked with over the years, including
everyone at Transcontinental.”
According to the Quebec ministère du Conseil exécutif,
“this tribute is testimony to the pride inspired in
the people of Quebec by the outstanding achievements of those
who have had an exceptional impact on Quebec or have enabled
Quebec to stand out in a specific field of endeavour.”
