Transcontinental Receives Award for Recycling Program

Montreal, October 1, 2007 – Transcontinental is proud to announce that Transcontinental Direct in Pennsylvania, a leading direct marketing service provider, has been recognized for its commitment to the environment and management of its recycling program.

David Cutler Industries, a recycling specialist to the graphic arts industry, presented its “Outstanding Recycling Achievement Award” for the volume of paper recycled last year by Transcontinental Direct’s Warminster and Hamburg, Pennsylvania printing and direct mail operations.

“We’re honored to be recognized for our environmental efforts by one of the leading recyclers in the United States,” said Transcontinental Direct President, Rob Young. “We are committed to doing our part to protect the environment and we continue to evaluate our activities to identify opportunities to reduce environmental impact.”

In presenting the award, David Cutler Industries noted that Transcontinental Direct had recycled more than 11,000 tons of paper in 2006, saving 193,000 trees, more than 4 million gallons of oil, 34,000 cubic yards of landfill space, nearly 80,000 gallons of water and more than 45 million kilowatts of energy.

Transcontinental has been recognized as a leader in environmental protection, receiving various awards in recognition of its efforts since it implemented its first environmental policy in 1993.

Transcontinental Direct, through its network of facilities, delivers a comprehensive portfolio of solutions, including direct mail and fulfillment services, postal optimization, database marketing and analytics, forms and commercial printing, statement processing and business continuity and recovery services.
