Transcontinental Partners with Breakfast Clubs of Canada and the Quebec Breakfast Club to Give a Voice to Children

Toronto, June 7, 2007 – Transcontinental Inc. recently teamed up with Breakfast Clubs of Canada and the Quebec Breakfast Club to help promote the organizations and their mission. By contributing to the Clubs’ recognition in their respective markets, Transcontinental hopes to help ensure that thousands of children start their day on a full stomach, with all the energy required to learn.

“To accomplish our mission, we count on the energy and generosity of people dedicated to improving the lives of our children. We are thrilled that Transcontinental has agreed to support Breakfast Clubs of Canada and the Quebec Breakfast Club in our mission to give as many children as possible an equal chance at success,” said Daniel Germain, President-founder of the two organizations.

“At Transcontinental, we are extremely happy to contribute to this important cause. Children are our future and we are responsible for giving them the best care, including a nutritious start to the school day,” said Isabelle Marcoux, Vice Chair and Vice President, Corporate Development, Transcontinental. “We are also thrilled to continue our work with Daniel Germain. He is a truly dedicated man who has our full support.”

The partnership will grant Breakfast Clubs of Canada and the Quebec Breakfast Club $300,000 of coverage in some of Transcontinental’s best-selling and most widely read magazines in Canada, including Canadian Living, Homemakers, Elle Canada, Good Times, Coup de Pouce, Madame and Bel Âge.

"Our partnership with Transcontinental will definitely help us reach out to even more people from coast to coast," added Mr. Germain.

Launched in 2005, Breakfast Clubs of Canada is born out of a story that started over ten years ago, when Mr. Germain founded the Quebec Breakfast Club to fulfil his dream that one day, all children will start their day with the energy they need to learn.

Today, the Quebec Breakfast Club feeds more than 15,000 children every day in 212 schools across Quebec. This year, the Club will have served more than 2.1 million breakfasts. In Canada, BCC helps support 2,400 school nutrition programs reaching out to more than 230,000 Canadian children.
