Montréal, April 20, 2007 – Transcontinental Media
is pleased to announce the launch of Vision Durable,
a new business magazine aimed at bridging the gap between
the concept and implementation of sustainable development
for Québec business people. The first edition is available
on newsstands today included with the May edition of Commerce
magazine.

“Sustainable development isn’t a fad, it’s
the new way of doing business and it’s here to stay,”
said Natalie Larivière, President of Transcontinental
Media. “Today, companies need to operate efficiently
and profitably, but also in ways that respect the environment
and the needs of society. These principles are rooted in Transcontinental’s
corporate culture, which makes Vision Durable a natural
fit for us.”
Included with the May edition of Commerce magazine,
Vision Durable will help readers build a deeper understanding
of sustainable development by bringing them detailed articles,
case studies, analyses and insight into sustainable development
from trusted sources. Vision Durable will be a leading
source of information, opinion and debate.
“Vision Durable will bridge the gap between the
ideal of sustainable development and what Québec business
people can actually do to implement it,” said Pierre
Marcoux, Vice President, Business Publications, Transcontinental
Media. “While solutions may not always seem readily
available, learning from what others have done can be incredibly
effective and enlightening.”
As a companion to Vision Durable magazine, Transcontinental
Media is also launching a new website www.visiondurable.com,
which features daily news updates on sustainable development
in Québec, in Canada and around the world, special
reports, interviews with industry leaders and a reference
section with case studies, amongst other things.
“We hope that Vision Durable online will become
the destination of choice for business people seeking information
and perspective on sustainable development,” added Mr.
Marcoux.
Printed on 100% recycled paper, Vision Durable’s
first three editions will be circulated to 40,000 subscribers
with the May, July and September editions of Commerce
magazine.
